Either all or a significant portion of a foreign national's immigration journey will be spent in the realm of U.S. government agencies and departments, the very ones charged with providing immigration benefits and the enforcement of the nation's immigration laws. Oftentimes a difficult case or issue can be positively resolved internally, through the established administrative appeal channels that exist in this realm.  When the administrative mechanisms for addressing tough issues of law fail to provide a remedy, it may be necessary to appeal to a higher authority, the federal courts, to obtain a just adjudication. Not every case or application is entitled to be heard before a federal court, therefore, it is important to consult with counsel to determine whether this option is available.
