USCIS Proposal Could Eliminate Need for Departure Before Waiver Processing

 

On January 6, 2012, US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) published a Notice of Intent in the Federal Register, laying out a proposal that would allow certain immediate relatives of U.S. citizens to request waivers of inadmissibility (I-601 waivers) prior to departing the United States for consular processing of their visa applications.

February 2012 Visa Bulletin Shows More Rapid Movement for India and China

 

The Department of State Visa bulletin for February 2012 is showing a full year of advancement in the employment-based second categories for natives of China and India.  This is the largest advance yet, and the second month in a row showing significant movement in these categories.  As we advised previously, those born in India or China with priority dates prior to January 1, 2010 should contact an attorney and prepare their adjustment applications quickly in order to be able to file before the end of February 2012.
